The number of business license applications for short-term rentals in Nelson so far doesn’t surprise one owner.
Stephen Harris, who is part of an informal owners association, says the 27 licenses so far represent people who are dedicated to running their rentals as a business.
But for a lot of others it might only be a sideline and not worth the expense to continue.
A year-round license costs $800 but monthly and summer licenses are cheaper.
