Kaslo sets 2018 target for city hall completion

The Village of Kaslo has set a date to return to city hall after several years of renovation.

Mayor Suzan Hewat says they’d like to be back in the building by Aug. 14, 2018.

That’s the 125th anniversary of Kaslo’s incorporation.

Contracts for drywall and insulation have just been awarded.

City hall was built in 1898.

Hewat says they also hope a park will open at the same time on the former fire hall site next door.

During the renovations the village has been doing its business in the Kemball building across the street.
