UPDATED: Businesses skeptical of downtown design plan

Lots of people attended last night’s open house on Nelson’s downtown urban design strategy, but there wasn’t a lot of love for the plan.

Doug Jones of Cartolina Cards feels the details are all wrong.

Fiona Richards, also of Cartolina, says a downtown clean-up is needed but it requires more thought.

Mike Borch of Baker Street Men’s Wear likes some aspects of the plan but he has concerns.

Justin Pelant of Ted Allan’s Jewellery thinks a more modest project could address the highest priorities.
