Boundary expansion is in Greater Trail's best interest: CAO

Trail has secured expert opinion and the boundary expansion is in the best interests of the City’s residents and beyond.
So says CAO David Perehudoff as the City makes pro-active moves to educate the public on the list of benefits of taking over Area A.
Teck’s tax rate would reduce to 55%, but Perehudoff says that’s still a good deal in the long term.
Council will be at the opening Trail Market of the season Friday to inform the public ahead of a July 7th deadline for people to formally oppose the expansion.
The City admits gaps in public education contributed to a recent petition that has forced a referendum on the proposed pedestrian pipe bridge.
