It’s the end of an an era for what was once a big employer in the Rossland forestry industry.
The main mill and associated equipment at the old Jones Ties and Poles was auctioned off Wednesday.
Don Bryden’s late brother Jack owned the business since 1978.
Don says it’s a little sad to see it all go.
The mill hasn’t operated for a couple of years and Bryden says no one in the family wants to keep running it.
At its peak it employed 30 people on site and provided work for many others in associated contractor positions in the bush.
