Many charges stayed after wild chase

The Crown has stayed many of the nineteen charges against the man who led Nelson RCMP on a crazy chase in March.

34 year old Conan Lee Taylor still faces four charges including dangerous driving causing bodily harm and flight from a peace officer.

However charges including drug possession, drunk driving, and assault have been stayed.

Two officers were injured in several attempts to arrest him.

He was finally apprehended at the mall parking lot.

After his arrest RCMP said Taylor was found over the criminal limit for blood alcohol and under a 10-year driving prohibition related to an impaired driving fatality.

Taylor will decide whether to be tried by judge or jury later this month.
