Local civilian aviators help in plane search

Local aviators have been involved in the search for the missing aircraft that vanished last week.

Nelson-based Don McKinnon is coordinator for the south east zone of the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA).

A couple of planes have been going up each day to check areas in the East Kootenay and Kootenay Lake.

Civilian planes are assisting six military aircraft.

Two people are missing after their plane vanished last Thursday somewhere between Cranbrook and Kamloops.
