Chamber concerned about ‘transient’ traffic through Railtown

The Executive Director of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce says it’s always a concern when local businesses are a victim to crime.

Tom Thomson is speaking to the break and enters in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Three businesses in the commercial complex on Baker Street in Railtown were hit.

Thomson says he’s not suggesting the transient activity is the reason for the incident but says there may be a tie in.

He’s encouraging all businesses on Baker Street to use security cameras.
