Nelson city council has received the final draft of its downtown urban design strategy.
They’ve asked staff to develop a plan to work with businesses and others to identify priorities.
Outgoing senior planner Megan Squires says many details still have to be worked out.
This week squires outlined for council the community’s seven chief concerns about the plan.
They include that it’s too cookie-cutter.
But she says the consultant was trying to balance local character with the costs involved.
