EcoSociety seeks more city support for markets

The West Kootenay EcoSociety is asking the city of nelson to waive fees for the markets they host.

The society presently pays $5,500 a year to put on the Cottonwood and downtown markets.

But board member Alon Gelcer says the economic benefit they create should be recognized.

They’re also asking the city to chip in $15,000 toward the summer marketfests.

The city does provide some in-kind services.
