A Nelson councillor is delighted the city finally has a new clean air by-law.
Robin Cherbo says he’s wanted it for years.
Cherbo says since 2008 the city has relied on provincial regulations but he prefers the made-in-Nelson rules.
They prohibit smoking in all outdoor public spaces including amenity areas, patios, and bus stops.
And they treat tobacco, cannabis, and vapour products equally.
