Columbia Basin Trust chips in for Diefenbunker renos

The Columbia Basin Trust will help pay for renovations to the Diefenbunker next door to Touchstones Nelson.

The museum will move its artifact collection to the former cold war bunker in the basement of the post office.

Executive director Astrid Heyerdahl says the Trust is providing $65,000 for renos.

Heyerdahl says they also want to maintain the heritage aspects of the space.

The funds come from the Trust’s new built heritage program.
