Two people have been caught in the Salmo Valley violating the ban on open burning.
The fire department says it attended a home last week where plastic was being burned in an unattended barrel. They put it out.
A few days later RCMP spotted someone with a campfire in their yard. The person told the officer it was to cook dinner.
Both incidents have been forwarded to the province for ticketing with a recommended $1,150 fine.
