The City of Nelson saw a 14 per cent increase in garbage tag revenue in the second quarter of this year.
Chief financial officer Colin McClure says it comes after they lowered the maximum weight of each bag.
McClure says some people might not have realized that every bag needs a tag.
The increase to revenue was about $7,000.
