The former chief of the Beasley Fire Department says helping people in the community has been a highlight of his career.
Al Craft stepped down as chief earlier in the year.
He’s been with the department for 27 years, 15 as chief.
Craft is still a regular at the fire hall as a mentor for younger firefighters.
He says he’ll decide in the winter if he plans to keep doing that.
