First court appearance for robbery suspect expected Tuesday

It’s been six weeks since the man suspected in a rash of armed robberies in our area was arrested.
But Andrew Stevenson has yet to make an appearance in Nelson Court.
That’s because he was injured during his arrest following the robbery of the Nelson Credit Union late April.
And last month he didn’t appear because his lawyer was ill.
However Stevenson and partner Krista Kalmikoff – who is out on bail- are expected to be in Nelson Court Tuesday morning.
They’re also charged in connection with the armed robbery of the Currency Exchange -where a shotgun was actually fired – and break and enters at Castlegar pharmacies.
