A focus on local goods is highlighted as the West Kootenay Eco Society brings back their Wednesday market in Nelson’s downtown.
The 400 block of Baker Street was shut down for the first time this year as up to 12 local farmers and numerous artisans set up shop.
Market Director Jesse Woodward says the idea supporting a local food and craft network economy is important for people trying to make a living.
80% of everything being sold by each vendor must be local.
The market takes over Baker street every Wednesday from 9:30 am to 3 pm.
