A search is underway for what’s being described as the Holy Grail of historic Nelson maps.
Doug Jones of Cartolina Cards is trying to track down a bird’s eye view drawn in 1898.
He says a black and white photo of the map is in the BC Archives but nobody knows where the original is.
It shows the streets, wharf, and every building in town.
It was one of the final works of Augustus Koch, who created dozens of such maps for American cities in the 19th century.
