A public meeting will be held Wednesday evening for Poplar Creek residents on evacuation alert.
The notice was issued July 30 due to the Rapid Creek fire which stands at 750 hectares.
Travis Abbey of the Regional District of Central Kootenay says the meeting is in response to concerns about the hands-off approach being taken to the fire.
The meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lardeau Valley community centre in Meadow Creek.
Representatives will be on hand from the BC Wildfire Service and Regional District of Central Kootenay.
