UPDATED: Nelson council nixes Railtown cardlock depot

Nelson city council has rejected the idea of putting a cardlock bulk fuel station back in Railtown.

It would have gone on Government Road where there used to be one, but the site has since been remediated and rezoned.

Michael Dailly was one of five council members who agreed it’s no longer a good fit.

Dailly says there is a demand for the cardlock service but feels it should go somewhere else.

However, councillor Bob Adams thought it would be fine in Railtown.

City staff strongly recommended against the application.
