UPDATED: Road Kings rev up for 15th annual car show

The 15th annual Nelson Road Kings car show begins this afternoon.

Club president Jack Chambers says they’ll go ahead despite the forest fire smoke.

Around 350 vintage cars are expected from around western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.

Registration and entertainment begins at 1 at the train station.

The Queen City Cruise makes its way down Baker Street, High Street, and Nelson Avenue starting at 6:30 p.m.

After that, the Road Kings and Nelson and District Arts Council will team up on a community dance to be held in the Hall Street plaza starting at 7.

It will mark the end of this year’s Artwalk.

Stephanie Myers with the arts council says it went very well.

The show and shine will see Baker Street filled with old autos on Saturday.
