The City of Nelson says it’s not trying to prevent anyone from using the youth centre by charging drop in fees.
Chief financial officer Colin McClure says they would never refuse anyone who can’t afford it.
But Reasha Wolfe, who ran an art program until last week, has resigned as a result.
An on-line petition protesting the new drop-in fee of $2 to $3 has collected over 2,000 names.
