Continued Grizzly bear activity has prompted the RDCK to extend the closure of the Nelson – Salmo Great Northern Trail.
The stretch between Cottonwood Lake and Hall siding has been shut since April 22nd and the Regional District now expects to re-open it on June 30th.
The trail is closed annually to allow early spring feeding for Grizzlies.
The Regional District urges people to use caution when in the area and not to leave garbage or food on trails.
