Lakeside Place design unveiled

The Nelson CARES Society has unveiled plans for the Lakeside Place redevelopment project.

They held an open house this week to reveal the design of the new four-storey 47-unit building.

Executive director Jenny Robinson says there was a lot of interest from people who would like to live there.

The new building on Nelson Avenue will replace a 1950s-era motel.

But the property has to be rezoned due to its height.

Robinson says they have been finding new homes for the 20 people who will be displaced by the project.
