Nelson couple safe after Las Vegas shooting

Several people from our area were at the show in Las Vegas where at least 58 people died in a mass shooting.

The Nelson Star reports Karen Belland and her husband John are unharmed.

They quote her as saying she “feels lucky to be alive” and bullets were flying right by them.

A Grand Forks woman is also reportedly safe.
