Remembrance Day ceremonies force sculpture’s removal

A prominent sculpture outside Nelson city hall will be removed several months early.

It’s a wooden tunnel-like piece that you can walk through.

But Legion president Bill Andreashuk says it would be in the way of Remembrance Day ceremonies.

The sculpture by a trio of Argenta artists will be taken down later this month.

Spring Shine, one of the co-creators, says there isn’t really anywhere else it can go.

Shine says he’s disappointed, but not angry.

It was created last year for Castlegar Sculpturewalk.
