Mayor surprised Nelson Landing back on market

Nelson’s mayor is surprised and disappointed the Nelson Landing site is going back up for sale.

But Deb Kozak says she’s pleased the developer isn’t washing their hands of it entirely.

She thinks the idea of selling off smaller parcels for more modest projects make sense.

The 265-unit housing complex has all its approvals in place but no construction has begun.

Storm Mountain Development announced this week that it’s now seeking builders to take on portions of the land.

The asking price for the entire 13-acre property is just under $4 million.

It sits between the lakefront and the CP Rail line from the old Kootenay Forest Products mill site to beyond Red Sands Beach.
