It’s the Salvation Army’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Major Robin Borrows says the Christmas kettle campaign is underway in Nelson.
Borrows says they want to offer a Christmas dinner for any family or individual who needs one.
Borrows says they’re shooting for $24,000 by Dec. 23, but they’re off to a slow start because of the rainy weather.

You can donate at the kettle on Baker Street in front of CIBC or in the Chahko Mika Mall in front of Save-On-Foods.
Borrows says they can also use volunteers willing to ring the bell for a few hours.
