Nelson starts livestreaming council meetings

You can now watch all Nelson city council meetings online as they happen or after the fact.

Corporate officer Frances Long says while the public wasn’t exactly clamoring for it, it’s something many municipalities do.

They’ve wanted to try it for a long time but held off until they found an affordable solution.

Long says the software allows for three camera angles, broadcasts any presentation materials, and allows them to time stamp items so you can go directly to the part you want to watch.

After a few test runs everything should be working for the next meeting on Dec. 4.
