Not all KIJHL personnel approve of mandatory full face protection

It seems that not everybody in the KIJHL is on board with BC Hockey’s decision to make full face protection mandatory for all Junior B hockey players in the province.

Nelson Leafs president John Dooley says the announcement came as a surprise.

Grand Forks Border Bruins head coach and general manager Emery Olauson isn’t a fan of the change.

Hockey BC says the decision was made specifically to keep players safe.

Both Dooley and Olauson worry this will make for chippier games.
