Trail’s representative to the RDKB has serious concerns about the ballooning cost of public transit.
City councillor Robert Cacchioni says this year’s budget for the East End area is around $1.2 million with Trail taxpayers paying close $700,000.
And he says in the coming five years the whole budget will increase by another $600,000
He says BC Transit has to help with some better efficiencies.
He says BC Transit is working on ideas but until he sees some savings he’s worried.
