Slava Doval named 2018 cultural ambassador

Nelson’s cultural ambassador for 2018 is Slava Doval.

The dance teacher was named to the position tonight by the city.

Doval says dance is “on fire” in the city right now.

Doval’s own DanceFusion studio has over 300 students of all ages.

The cultural ambassador is expected to represent and promote Nelson on their travels.

In 2018, Doval will be in Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Vienna.

In receiving the honour Doval was described as a “creative force” and a “beloved teacher.”

She succeeds author Eileen Delehanty-Pearkes as cultural ambassador.
