The start of construction on Nelson’s major Hall Street corridor project is a “go.”
Council has signed off on the $1.2 million first phase work around the top block off Baker Street and IODE Park that will become a feature plaza area.
City Manager Kevin Cormack says it’s scheduled for August through October and they’ll now put it out to tender.
There will also be a traffic flow change at Cedar and Hill streets.

The project start has been scaled back to minimize summer construction inconvenience.
The next part of Hall St – from Baker to the complex – could be tackled in the spring.
