The City of Nelson has presented a special citation to an outstanding leader in the local arts and heritage scene.
Stephanie Fischer was formally recognized this week for her work with Touchstones Nelson, the Capitol Theatre, and other groups.
She says it was a huge surprise.
She says 20 years ago she saw the potential for a first-class museum and archives.
Fischer is presently the executive director of the Capitol Theatre.
She was also a project consultant on the restoration of Nelson’s CPR station, worked on the city’s heritage register, and chaired the cultural development committee.
