As the investigation into the death of a 63 year old Winlaw man continues police have a witness who saw the vehicle plunge into the Slocan River Monday.
West Kootenay Traffic Services’ John Ferguson says RCMP received a call just before 4 pm and arrived on scene.
He says one independent observer came forward.
Ferguson says the recovery of the vehicle from the fast moving river was quite the effort.
He adds an excavator had to be used to not only get the vehicle out of the water but to prevent it from floating further away.
