A Silverton village councillor is optimistic about getting more protection for their watershed.
Leah Main, who is spearheading the request, says they’re applying to the province to create a wildlife habitat area for spawning bull trout.
Main says their request will be sent soon.
Main says they have support from two logging companies in the area.
Silverton Creek also feeds the aquifer the village gets its water from.
