Nelson has updated their Water Master Plan

Nelson might look into finding alternate water sources in 2018.

The city was able to replace all the galvanized piping and remove irrigation from some parks over the last ten years.

These efforts have reduced water consumption by 30% per person.

Chief Financial Officer Colin Mclure says the revised Water Master Plan includes research into water sources in the area.

He says they’re looking ahead to potential water loss.

The original master plan was implemented in 2007.
