Nelson City Council will look at altering short-term rental regulations in June.
Council heard from two residents this week asking for exemptions from the business license bylaw to be able to rent to short-term applicants.
City Planner Alex Thumm says the residents were granted the exemption because the properties are not the principle residence.
He hopes the process will be easier in 2019.

He says council would like to find a way to streamline the process so there aren’t ad-hoc exemptions.
The bylaw was put into place to prevent the loss of long-term rental options.
The two exemptions granted this week are only valid for 2018.
