Nelson man charged with several offences after incident at Wait’s News

An incident at Wait’s News last week involving a man with a knife ended with no injuries.

On Thursday Nelson Police attempted to arrest a man causing a disturbance at a health care provider.

The man was told not to go back to the provider, he then indicated he would and fled on foot into Wait’s News.

Sergeant Nate Holt says he then threatened officers with a knife before turning it on himself

He says there were no injuries.

Holt says the man is known to police, his charges include weapons offences and uttering threats.
