Physician recruitment efforts continue in Slocan Valley

The Slocan District Chamber of Commerce is on a recruiting mission.

They’ve produced a video which aims to get physicians interested in relocating to the Slocan Valley to work at the Slocan Community Health Centre.

Dr. Chuck Burkholder stars in the video.

He’s currently the lone physician at the facility and has worked there for 24 years.

Interior Health had intended to reduce ER hours at the centre this week but have delayed the changes until at least spring.

The change would see hours cut from 24/7 to 9-5 weekdays.
