Fire ops 101 training made an impression on Nelson city councillor

A Nelson City Councillor was presented a firefighters helmet at Monday’s meeting.

Janice Morrison participated in Fire Ops 101 last September at the Union of BC Municipalities convention.

The workshop allows elected officials to get a taste of what it’s like to be a firefighter.

Morrison says they worked really hard.

She adds it’s important to experience different walks of life.

Morrison adds the program was a great learning experience.
