Poverty reduction grant awarded to Ktunaxa Nation Council

The Ktunaxa Nation Council is in early stages of developing a reliable employment social enterprise.

The Council was granted $25,000 from the Columbia Basin Trust in their effort to reduce poverty in the basin.

Business development officer Justin Paterson says they’re in the early stages of the project.

He say’s they’ll be analysing gaps to fill with employment opportunities.

The project aims to offer long-term reliable employment for Nation citizens living with special needs or challenged by unique circumstances.
