Federal Budget conservation funding could help preserve Mountain Caribou

Wildsight BC’s Executive Director says conservation funding in the 2018 federal budget is a huge step forward.

Robyn Duncan says this will be beneficial to the Kootenay-Boundary area.

She says it could help prevent the extinction of the BC Mountain Caribou.

Duncan says our region is blessed to be ground zero for freshwater resources for the country.

The federal government committed 1.3 billion dollars over five years to expand protected areas and help endangered species.
