Rossland Council will vote on what the Mayor calls a minor amendment to the Official Community Plan on snow-making.
Currently Red Mountain is not allowed to take water from the Star Gulch Reservoir to make snow, but Mayor Greg Granstrom says the idea would boost Rossland’s economic sustainability.
The Red Mountain Racers want a guaranteed snow base early in the season for events and training.
Granstrom notes the current community plan was drawn up before the other Ophir Creek Reservoir came on line and he says there’s plenty of water for the City’s needs.
