Fortis BC’s roll out of their new advanced metering will begin in the Trail and Salmo areas.
Spokesperson Neal Pobran says this will be the first of five separate installation phases across southern BC as there are a number of variables to consider.
Trail-Salmo residents will have their old electricity meters replaced with the new radio controlled devices from September through December.
Customers do not need to be at home for that.
Fortis customers in the Similkameen-Boundary will get their new meters in August next year and those in the Kootenays in November 2015.
