Nelson to get floating stage?

A Nelson arts group has plans to bring a new performance stage to the Queen City .

It will actually be in the lake.

Nelson and District Arts Council Executive Director Neil Harrower says they plan to either build a floating stage or bring the one used at the Kaslo Jazz Festival.

The idea has been done before and it would be positioned just off the natural sloped bank next to the rowing club .


Harrower says he needs to discuss things with various potential partners but he’d like it done by next year.

That area can be contained and tickets sold for live theatre which would help fund the arts council.
