School District 8 Secretary-Treasurer moving on

The Kootenay Lake School District is looking for a new secretary-treasurer.

Kim Morris has accepted a position with School District 40 (New Westminster) effective July 2nd. Superintendent Christine Perkins says they’ve started the process of finding a replacement.

She says Morris did an amazing job during her time with SD8, ‘Kim was instrumental in leading SD8 through our Facilities Review process, annual budgeting processes, and demonstrated excellent leadership in our Student Symposiums.’

One of the reasons Morris is leaving is to be closer to her family.

Morris has held her position as Secretary-Treasurer since 2007 working in the Kootenay Lake, Kootenay-Columbia, and Prince Rupert school districts. She’s been noted for her positive energy, inclusive and empowering approach to decision making, and for financial processes described as ‘transparent, collaborative, inclusive and honourable.’
