School District 8 looks at options for Salmo Pool land

The Salmo Pool is a busy place on a hot summer day. The land it’s on is currently owned by the Kootenay Lake School District, though it’s operated by the Salmo Pool Society. The school district is looking to sell the land, as well as the tennis courts, as there’s no student programming on either site. Secretary Treasurer for the School District, Kim Morris says one of the options is transferring title to the Village of Salmo.

She says some details need to be worked out as the land may have been donated.

The Village of Salmo issued a public notice last week saying Mayor and Council have director the CAO to investigate the possible sale.

School District 8 is looking to divest itself of a number of properties around the region that aren’t used for student programming. Morris says more details are expected in a couple weeks.
