Self Advocacy Group petitions for Sunday bus service

A group in Nelson has been petitioning to see Sunday bus service restored. The Nelson Self Advocacy Group which is run through the Nelson Cares Society, collected about 1700 signatures on the issue. Matthew Wilson-Birks with Nelson Cares says the group represents issues important to those with disabilities, but feels the lack of service affects many in the community.

Nick is with the Self Advocacy Group and feels there are many reasons people use the service.

The petition has been presented to the Regional District of Central Kootenay and a decision on funding is expected this summer.
