Silver City residents don't object to proposed boundary expansion

The focus on Trail’s proposed boundary expansion will now shift to negotiating a compensation settlement for Beaver Valley services and other outstanding issues.

This after Trail confirmed – as expected – there was not petition in opposition to the move into Columbia Gardens from electors.

That deadline passed Monday.

Last week nearly all the industrial park business owners also gave effective consent.

Trail Mayor Dieter Bogs has said while there will be financial mitigation for the lost tax base covering B.V’s recreation and culture services there are other issues to thrash out.

These include things like funding for noxious weed control, grant-in-aid and house numbering.
